Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza compact SUV has crossed the milestone to sell 1 lakh units since launch; remained the bestselling compact SUV for 8 months in a row

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has crossed another milestone of selling 1 lakh units in domestic market since its launch. The compact SUV has topped its segment for 8 months in a row and the 1 lakh milestone was achieved in just 11 months, as the car started selling from 24th March, last year.

The Vitara Brezza has remained one of the bestselling and most popular model in the country in recent times. Post arrival, this compact SUV gave tough competition to several strong rivals like the Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta. It appears with an unique design and several class-leading features, that helped it to become vehemently popular in very short span.

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza managed to sell around 9,000 units on an average every month, which simply shows the popularity of this model. Riding on the success of this model, the automaker has experienced significant and fast growth. Currently available in diesel option only, a soon to be introduced petrol engine is expected to enhance its appeal further.


The Vitara Brezza sports unique design elements like bull-horn LED daytime running lights, H-shaped chrome element on front grille, dual-tone paint scheme, a floating roof design at exterior. Inside the cabin, the car features SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system, cockpit styled instrument cluster with mood lighting. Vitara Brezza came as the first car in India to be certified for offset and side impact crash tests.

The car also incorporates Suzuki’s TECT body structure, driver airbag as standard across all the variants, making it a safer vehicle. It is powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine is capable of churning out 89 bhp of peak power at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of peak torque from 1,750 rpm. The popular urban compact SUV is priced between Rs. 7.26 lakh and Rs. 9.70 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
