The 2017 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift has been spied in India for the first time ahead its expected launch in October this year. Despite being heavily camouflaged, the outline of the upcoming facelifted crossover is clear. It sports a heavily overhauled and more aggressive design compared to the current model. Upon its launch, the facelifted S-Cross will be sold through the Nexa premium retail chain just like the current model and it could come priced between Rs. 9 lakh and Rs. 13.50 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Speaking about the design, the 2017 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross sports a heavily redesigned front fascia with new radiator grille featuring vertical slats and plenty of chrome garnishing. The headlamps have become much sharper and incorporate projector lamps along with integrated LED daytime running lights too. Front bumper appears muscular with larger air intake and blackened fog lamp area with chrome trim.
At the side profile, it gets new design alloy wheels, black side body cladding, metal scuff plate, turn indicator integrated ORVMs and sharper character lines enhancing the visual appeal further. Rear of the car gets a slightly revised bumper and wraparound taillights. Dimensionally, it remains same as the current model.
Interior of this crossover comes with multifunction steering wheel, dual analog dials and a digital MID at the instrument cluster and the hexagonal centre console incorporates a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
India-spec 2017 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is likely to retain same engine and transmission options as the current model. In that case, it will be powered by the 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel engine and a 1.6-litre DDiS 320 diesel engine. These engines churn out 88 bhp and 118 bhp of power output respectively. Also, a 1.5-litre petrol engine is expected to be offered with the facelifted S-Cross.
