The American tech firm reveals that iPhone 7 Plus’ higher demand has helped to garner better than expected sales result
American tech giant Apple has revealed its financial results for the fiscal 2017 first quarter. The tech firm has registered all-time record revenue of $78.4 billion. International sales accounted 64% of the entire quarter’s revenue for the brand. Apple CEO Tim Cook says, this phenomenal success has been possible due to the higher demands of the iPhone 7 Plus.
Speaking about the record sales result, Mr. Cook said, the company has broken multiple records in the way to achieve this success. The company sold all-time highest number of iPhones. The number of sales for the services, Mac and Apple Watch also went up helping the company to earn more revenue. Also, he revealed that this success will inspire the brand to strive for more new and exciting products.
According to Cook, this has been a dynamite quarter for the company. He also said that this success excites Apple about the products that are already in the pipeline. Not only the iPhone, but Mac has also seen increasing sales in this quarter.
Interestingly, Apple has received immense success in the quarter, when Samsung failed largely due to problem with the Galaxy Note 7 that has been reported for several explosion and fire incidents for its faulty battery. The South Korean tech major had to recall the Galaxy Note 7, which affected its sales and the brand image as well.
While in between the two tech majors, Apple fetches such success, now it is to be seen how it performs when another tech giant Nokia is coming back. The Finland-based telecom brand is preparing to launch its range of new Android based smartphones at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona later this month.
