Hyundai will re-launch the Santro; will sport completely new look and upmarket features
South Korean auto major Hyundai is preparing to bring back the popular Santro hatchback in 2018. Despite being discontinued, the hatchback’s popularity is still undeniable. Now, the company has decided to bring back the hatchback again in new avatar. Expect the new generation Santro to come incorporating new design and there will be loads of features inside the cabin.
The next-generation Hyundai Santro is expected to sport a front fascia similar like the modern cars from the brand. It would get a large front grille and a sleek front bumper. The sleek headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights will ensure the car looks appealing. At side profile, the new Hyundai Santro will sport bold looking alloy wheels, while the rear will get sleek taillights.
Interior of the new generation Hyundai Santro is likely to come wearing range of modern and upmarket features. Apart from the multifunction steering wheel and a sleek instrument cluster, it is supposed to get a touchscreen infotainment system with range of connectivity options. Being a modern age car, the 2018 Hyundai Santro would get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
In terms of space and comfort also, this new generation Santro will come impressive compared to the old model. Expect it to offer more space to the occupants, as it is likely to come dimensionally longer than the old Santro. Also, the car will come shedding its tallboy stance.
On the powertrain front, the 2018 Hyundai Santro could come equipped with a range of engines between 0.8-litre and 1.0-litre displacement options. Transmission duty will be done by a 5-speed manual gearbox. In Indian market, it will replace the i10 and sit between Eon and Grand i10. Expect it to be unveiled in the country during 2018 New Delhi Auto Expo.
