American SUV maker Jeep has initiated an unique program for a charity cause. The company is offering car moustaches for Jeep vehicles, which is available for its range of models. The car moustaches are available at a price of $49.99 (Rs. 3,406). Raised money from this initiative will go to the Movember Foundation, which is a men’s health charity.
The car moustaches are only available at Jeep’s American accessories website. These Jeep moustaches come with rubber clips and can be attached to the front grille of the cars. The automaker claims, these moustaches are water resistant and they measure around 34 inches. Jeep also states, moustaches shouldn’t be attached while the vehicles run at a speed of more than 64 kmph.
Speaking about the initiative Jeep boss Mike Manley has said that, Jeep owners can get their own tailored moustache for their vehicles. The company has also initiated a contest called #jeepstachecontest, through which owners of Jeep vehicles can grow moustache and post their image on Instagram and Twitter. The owner with most creative and best moustache will win a Jeep Renegade SUV.
The initiative is not available in India, where Jeep recently entered. The American SUV maker presently sells Wrangler, Grand Cherokee and performance oriented Grand Cherokee SRT as well. Apart from that, Jeep is also planning to launch the Compass SUV in the country, which is expected to go on sale here in April next year. Its price is likely to be around Rs. 25 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Jeep plans to launch a small SUV in India with a price tag under Rs. 10 lakh. This car will lock horn with Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. It will be manufactured at FCA’s Ranjangaon plant. The SUV market in India is experiencing increasing demand, and Jeep plans to grab a good share in that segment.
