Maruti-Suzuki-Baleno-RS

Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS is a performance oriented premium hatchback from the Indo-Japanese automaker; will be sold through Nexa channel

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch its premium hot hatch Baleno RS, that was displayed in its concept form nearly one year ago. The car is ready to be launched on 3rd March, and upon its arrival, the Baleno RS will throw tough challenge to the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI and the Fiat Punto Abarth. Expect this car to be priced at Rs. 8.1 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Being based on the regular Baleno hatchback, the design is very much identical. But the distinctiveness is also visible. Compared to the regular version of the premium hatchback, it will come with loads of chrome garnishing, sporty body kits enhancing the performance. The beefier tyres and the RS badge will also make it stand apart from the crowd.

The alloy wheels could come wearing new design, and the aerodynamic efficiency will surely be of top-notch quality. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS has been already unveiled at the brand’s official website, and it will appeal those customers who seek premiumness from their cars along with high performance. Dimensionally, the Baleno RS will come similar to the regular model.

Speaking about the interior of the hot hatch, it is designed to deliver the premium vibe like its regular sibling. The Baleno RS gets a multi-function steering wheel, dual pod instrument cluster with analog dials and digital MID. The unique looking centre console will come incorporating a SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The black theme inside the cabin is bound to enhance the sportiness.

Now, talking about the power source of the Baleno RS, this is going to be the most interesting part. A 998 cc, K10C, three-cylinder, DOHC, direct-injected, turbocharged petrol engine under the hood will be powering the hatchback. It is capable of churning out 101 hp of peak power at 5,500 rpm and 150 Nm of peak torque between 1,700 and 4,500 rpm. Transmission duty will be done by a 5-speed manual gearbox, and the engine will deliver around 24 kmpl of fuel efficiency.
