Nokia 6 Android Phone features 5.5-inch 1080p display, 4GB RAM, Android 7.0, fingerprint sensor
Nokia is finally back in the game with its smartphone Nokia 6 that runs the latest Android 7.0 Nougat! But the bad news is HMD Global, the company that holds rights to its name, has currently made it available only in the Chinese Market. So, we may have to wait a little longer before we get to see a global premium device available from the same brand.
The black-colored Nokia 6 comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p full-HD display wrapped in 2.5D Gorilla Glass. Powered by the Snapdragon 430 chipset with an octa-core Cortex-A53, Adreno 505 GPU, the device comes with an ample 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The unibody phone is built using 6000 series aluminium and its home button has an embedded fingerprint scanner.
The device hosts 8MP front camera with aperture f/2.0 and a 16MP rear camera with same aperture, and features like face detection, auto-focus and dual-tone flash. The sound experience is also quite great with Dolby Atmos tech powered by dual amplifier chips (TFA9891) offering 6dB louder sound and dual speakers, one on the top and other on the bottom.
The phone has dual SIM support as well as a microSD expansion slot. It’s a 4G LTE device with connectivity options like WiFi, Blutooth 4.1, GPS and USB. On the battery segment though it’s a little underachiever with a battery capacity of 300mAh. The batteries are built-in. There is still no news from the company whether this device would host any exclusive software feature to stand out from the crowd of other contenders but as the company previously hinted, its Nokia-branded Android phones will offer a near stock experience.
Also, this is really unfortunate to know that, HMD Glogal has no plans to launch the Nokia 6 device in other markers than China. It is only available via JD.com at 1699 Chinese Yuan(CNY) which roughly amounts to Rs. 16750/- in early 2017.
But as the company said that the Nokia marks the first step for the Nokia brand into Android smartphones with more to come in the first half of 2017, we can keep our fingers crossed for a truly global premium smartphone from the Brand that once won the hearts of Indian customers.
