Samsung has teased and announced the 29th March launch of the new flagship smartphone Galaxy S8; it will get new Bixby digital assistant
Samsung Galaxy S8 has been making headlines for last couple of days, but disappointingly it didn’t launch at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this time, where the South Korean tech major usually introduces its flagship every year. Instead the company has teased the model and announced that the upcoming smartphone will be launched on 29th March this year.
As the brand says, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be launched at an event called Samsung Unpacked in New York, USA. The phone will come featuring the brand’s newly developed digital assistant Bixby. It will be priced at EUR 849, which roughly converts into INR. 61,700. This means, the S8 will be more expensive than the brand’s Galaxy S7 Edge premium phone.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, more premium variant of the S8 will be priced at EUR 949, equivalent to around INR. 69,000. The Galaxy S8 was expected to launch at the Barcelona event, but due to the failure to launch the Note 7 successfully, the brand delayed its next flagship model’s launch.
The all-new Galaxy S8 will come with a Beast mode, which will significantly save the battery power in comparison to other battery saving apps available on Android platform. Currently, the Samsung is the most popular and bestselling tech brand. With its upcoming model, the company is expected to copy Apple’s strategy of adding S or Plus variants. Also, with the Finnish tech giant Nokia back in business again, this time, competition for Samsung is going to be tougher than before.
The new model will be available in two different size options. The Galaxy S8 will get a 5-inch display like the Galaxy S7, while another model will sport a larger 6-inch display. At the Mobile World Congress 2017, Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab S3 and the Galaxy book two-in-one device.
