Suzuki Ignis has been making headlines in India for quite some time, since it was displayed in India at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo. The car has garnered appreciation from the enthusiasts with its attractive design and impressive features. The micro-SUV gets a SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay.
Ignis comes with an attractive design, which grabs attention at the first glance. The headlamps and front grille are designed in such way, which make them look like a single unit. The headlamps get integrated LED daytime running light, enhancing the visual appeal further. Apart from that, a bold front bumper and chrome detailing around the fog lamps add on zing.
At the side profile, Suzuki Ignis features flared wheelarches, sporty black alloy wheels, turn indicator integrated ORVMs. The blackened ‘A’ pillar gives the car a floating roofline appearance. The rear fascia boasts compact two-part taillights, a black and chunky rear bumper. So far, in terms of design the Suzuki Ignis is pretty eye-catching.
The interior of this car is certainly a real piece of attractive with multi-function steering wheel, dual analog dials and a digital MID at the instrument cluster. The centre console features a tab like touchscreen infotainment system with SmartPlay and Apple CarPlay. This feature lets the owner to sync his iPhone or with the car’s system. Also the cabin sports Harman Kardon audio system, which surely adds on premium appeal.
Powering the micro-SUV will be a 1.2-litre VVT, K-series petrol engine borrowed from the Swift. It generates 84 bhp of peak power at 6,000 rpm and 115 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. It will get a 1.3 diesel engine as well, capable to produce 74 bhp of peak power at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm peak torque at as low as 2,000 rpm. Transmission duty will be done by a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT will be on offer as well.
