Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the most popular hatchbacks in the Indian market for pretty long time. The sporty looking upmarket hatchback is all set to come in a new avatar, the next generation Swift. The new generation Swift has been already unveiled and in the Indian domestic market this hatchback is expected to arrive during 2018 New Delhi Auto Expo. Let’s take a look at the upcoming avatar of the popular hatchback.

The next-generation Swift has received a completely redesigned front fascia that makes it look sportier and more bold compared to the current model. The large front grille with chrome trim, sharp laid back headlamps with LED daytime running lights, redesigned bumper make it very attractive looking. At the side profile, too, the new Swift appears with fresh design elements.

The rear passenger door handles has been repositioned and now sits at the thick C pillar instead of its conventional place, just like the Chevrolet Beat and Mahindra KUV100. The taillights come with little revised appearance. Inside the cabin, new generation Swift has been designed to deliver a more upmarket and stylish look with more comfort and space on offer that its predecessor.

The multi-function steering wheel, dual-pod instrument cluster with analog dials and a digital MID, circular AC vents. Also, some chrome trims inside the cabin add on zing to this sporty hatchback. In terms of comfort and space, it appears to be pretty good. A black interior theme makes the hatchback pretty appealing indeed.

On the powertrain front, the most interesting engine is the 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged petrol unit. Apart from that, it also gets a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine and a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine as well. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT as well. The new generation Swift gets environment friendly SHVS technology as well.
