Nokia acquired the French consumer electronics company Withings in June 2016. And by this summer of 2017, all the products from Withings will be rebranded as Nokia. Therefore, alongside the smartphones and the re-launched iconic 3310 handset we are about to see loads of Nokia electronic products like smartwatches, fitness wearables, connected scales, thermometers, etc.
At the ongoing Mobile World Congress 2017, in Barcelona, Spain, Nokia’s Vice President of Digital Health and former Withings Chief Executive Officer Cedric Hutchings has announced that all he products from the French firm will be rebranded and sold as Nokia products.
Not only the name change, but the redesigned Health Mate app will be launched later this year. It is expected to come with improved user experience, as the company claims. Nokia seems to be preparing to take on its rivals from every angle. This is why, apart from launching Android powered smartphones, the Finland-based tech firm is also introducing a new Patient Care program. This will share the data between patients and health professionals, just like the Apple HealthKit.
In the meantime, the Finnish brand has impressed everyone with its new range of smartphones at the Mobile World Congress. The newly launched phones include Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 smartphones and the redesigned version of the classic handset – Nokia 3310.
The first three models come powered by Android OS, the most popular mobile OS. With this, the company has made a grand comeback in the mobile area, where it was the ruler once. The company is expected to roll out several exciting products in near future.
